How we handle business data in the Jamaica Tourism Directory.
What data do we collect?
The Jamaica Tourism Directory collects the following information about tourism businesses, all sourced from publicly available records:
- Business name
- Address and location
- Phone number
- Email address
- Website URL
- Social media links
- Photos available in public listings
- Google ratings and review counts
All data is sourced from public directories (primarily Google Places) and enriched using AI to improve accuracy and completeness.
Legal basis
We process business data under the legitimate interest provision of the Jamaica Data Protection Act 2020. Tourism businesses benefit from increased visibility to travellers, and travellers benefit from a comprehensive, accurate directory. No personal (non-business) data is collected or processed.
How to opt out
If you'd like your business removed from the directory, you have two options:
Option 1: Email
Send an email to info@aurum-transfers.com with the subject line “Directory Opt-Out” and include your business name.
Option 2: WhatsApp
Reply STOP to any WhatsApp message you receive from us.
Data retention
Active listings are retained indefinitely to provide ongoing visibility for tourism businesses. Upon receiving a valid opt-out request, we will remove the listing and all associated data within 7 business days.
